Virtual Worship May 17th

Virtual Worship

May 17th , 2020

Welcome!

While we can not gather in person we can still worship as a faith community.   Please leave comments and join in the conversation on our Facebook page.

Announcements

  1.  With guidance from our bishop, we are planning to open for in person worship on June 14th.  By waiting this extra time it means that our older members can attend and still follow the guidelines for distancing put forth by state health officials.  This is a tentative date because there are various factors that could push the date back.

Greeting and Worship Through Giving

More details on Clyde’s offering devotion can be found Here.

There is not a plate to pass, but we encourage you to make use of our online giving page or make your tithes and offerings through a different format.

Musical Worship

Lyn Altman, our congregational song leader, has provided a recording of the doxology:

Kay Ridley,Amy Mosher, Cheryl Allen, and Clyde Flory recorded hymns for us to include in our virtual worship.  If you would like to sing along at home, the words can be found Here

Missions Moment

The Stewardship team is bringing us the missions moment this month:

Prayer

Prepare your heart and mind in an attitude as we approach the throne of God in prayer:

The Lord’s Prayer:  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever.  Amen.

Children’s Message

We also have activities to share with you that was made available by the people at Illustrated Ministry.  For coloring sheets and more head Here

Scripture Reading

We encourage you to read this morning’s scripture.  If you do not have a bible available, then please consider reading it in one of the following translations you are most comfortable with:

1 Peter 3:8-9;13-18 (NIV)

1 Peter 3:8-9;13-18 (NRSV)

1 Peter 3:8-9;13-18 (KJV)

Benediction

It has become our tradition to hold hands at the end of the service.   Since we can not do that, I encourage you at some point today to reach out and connect with someone.

May you know that you are loved and forgiven by God the Father

In your heart may you revere Jesus the Son as Lord

Being filled with the Holy Spirit, may you be able to share the hope you have.

Live in peace.  Amen.
