SOAP II Meeting

Our second SOAP meeting will take place June 1st at 6 pm. If you remember, SOAP is a simple method to integrate scripture and prayer into our daily lives. You don't have to be a bible scholar, or even know anything about the bible to use SOAP. Come and learn the method and draw closer to God through Scripture and prayer!

Five Practices - Meeting 3 Notes

We had a great discussion concerning Intentional Faith Development; the third of the five practices of fruitful congregations. The discussion began with defining what intentional was and how it fir in with our faith development. It was said that intentional meant "deliberate ef

fort." Our faith doesn't just 'develop' by itself. That is why our intentionality is so important.

We considered various ways that our church might aid intentional faith development. As we asked each person in attendance there were many suggestions. Here are a some of the ideas and discussion notes:

Get Ready to Pray - by Bishop Mike Coyner

“Get Ready to Pray” – September 26, 2008

When we gather on October 4th for our historic Special Session of the two Conferences here in Indiana to take the final votes on becoming the new Indiana Conference, we will also enter into a special week of prayer. That week of prayer, from October 5-11, is being encouraged by a group of pastors from some of the largest United Methodist congregations in the United States. They recently gathered to talk about how they can help lead our denomination forward, and they are recommended that we all commit ourselves to a week of prayer.

At our Special Session on October 4th, we will be asking those present and all United Methodist people in Indiana to join in that week of prayer. Here are the daily prayers for the week of October 5-11. Please join me in this week of prayer:
