The Second Station

Background:   The second station marks Jesus receiving the cross. A chapel directly across from the first station marks this part of the journey.

Read:  John 19:16-17

Reflect:  Jesus knew what he had to do, but that did not mean the burden was going to be easy.   The burden that Jesus carried was physical as well as a spiritual one.    Jesus carried more than a cross that day.  Upon his backs he carried the sins of humanity.

Pray:  What burden do you bear in your life right now?   Lift that burden up in prayer and ask God for the strength to carry it as far as you need to go.
