Virtual Worship April 12th

Virtual Worship

April 12th, 2020

Welcome!

While we can not gather in person we can still worship as a faith community.   Please leave comments and join in the conversation on our Facebook page.

We are here to accomplish our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

We are here to live into our vision of  sharing God’s love to transform communities and change lives.

We are here to worship God.

April Focus Scripture:  “Again Jesus said: “Peace be with you!  As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”  John 20:21

Announcements

  1.   If you are interested in joining in the Wednesday night Bible study through ZOOM you still can.   Instructions on how to do that are here.
  2. Thank you to everyone who has faithfully continued to give your tithes and offerings to the church during this time.

Musical Worship

Kay Ridley and Amy Mosher recorded hymns for us to include in our virtual worship.  If you would like to sing along at home, the words can be found here.

Our friends at Clay Church, a United Methodist community in South Bend,  have generously provided the following musical arrangement.  May it aid in celebrating the empty tomb

Prayer

Prepare your heart and mind in an attitude as we approach the throne of God in prayer:

The Lord’s Prayer:  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever.  Amen.

Worship Through Giving

Clyde Flory, our worship leader, offers us these words from My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers

“ The center of salvation is the Cross of Jesus and the reason it is so easy to obtain salvation is because it cost God so much.  The Cross is the point where God and sinful man merge with a crash and the way to life is opened- but the crash is on the heart of God.”

Clyde offers this prayer, “Thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross.  Thank you we can return the favor for Jesus today with the tithes and offering.  In Jesus name, Amen.

There is not a plate to pass, but we encourage you to make use of our online giving page or make your tithes and offerings through a different format.

Children’s Message

We also have an entire packet of Easter activities to share with you that was made available by the people at Illustrated Ministry.  For coloring sheets and more head Here.

Scripture Reading

We encourage you to read this morning’s scripture.  If you do not have a bible available, then please consider reading it in one of the following translations you are most comfortable with:

Matthew 28:1-10 (NIV)

Matthew 28:1-10 (NRSV)

Matthew 28:1-10  (KJV)

Benediction

It has become our tradition to hold hands at the end of the service.   Since we can not do that, I encourage you at some point today to reach out and connect with someone.

May you go with confidence knowing you are reconciled to God the Father

May you go secure in the knowledge that Jesus the son is with you.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit, may you go with power to share the good news.

May you live in peace.  Happy Easter. Amen.
